THE BOND COLLECTION

THE JAZZ SQUAD

I don't know much about this album or the artist but I sure know one thing.....This is Crime Jazz in the traditional mould! Although this release dates as the 90's I presume these recordings are from around the early 60's or if not have been re-created with superb authenticity. Take a trip back to the Golden-Age with these swinging jazz greats!

Thanks to Paul for sharing this rip of the Roy Budd score to The Wild Geese. Although not quite as groovy as his other scores featured here on The Lounge this is still a great soundtrack.

SITTING TARGET

Forget The Deer Hunter! This is one of Stanley Myers' finest moments. Presented here after a 30 year hiatus is the wonderfully groovy score to the 1971 British crime thriller starring Oliver Reed, Jill St John, Edward Woodward and Ian McShane. If you like the work of Roy Budd you'll probably like this one too!

THE BANK JOB

Dr. NO

Lemoncat has sent over this LP rip of the first Bond film soundtrack. Although ALL the James Bond soundtracks can be found over on our "Bond Pages" this is the mono version, sounding just like it did in the cinema back in '62.
This is very different to the rest of the series as this was composed by Monty Norman. Although Norman originally got credited as the composer of "The James Bond Theme", over the years it has come to be accepted that in fact it was written and arranged by the master himself John Barry. Norman has always claimed it as his own but anyone with a pair of ears (or even just one in the case of this mono version) can "see" that it is Barry's work. It's a simply incredible piece of arrangement that stands up as well today as it did back in 1962.

JAMES BOND ADVENTURE

Thanks to our regular contributor Lemoncat from "Grooves of Delight" we now have another welcome addition to the Roland Shaw catalogue. Second only to John Barry himself, Roland Shaw had a wonderful way of arranging and presenting not only the usual main themes but also some lesser-known incidental tracks from the Bond movies. Sit back and let the master entertain you!
