THE BOND COLLECTION

POLICE AT THE LIBRARY

From the French music production library "Koka Media" comes this slice of crime themed mood music. As you may have noticed from the cover, this is a blend of good old-fashioned "jazzy" crime, with a number of tracks having a more modern style. A very successful attempt to capture the "mood" intended! Check out the sample track "The Sleuth" on the Crime Files Jukebox.

BATMAN AND OTHER BAT SONGS

This is a rarely seen album from 1966 when Batmania was in full swing. Maxwell Davis here provides us with nine self-penned Batman inspired tunes, along with his version of Neal Hefti's classic main theme. Released in the US by Crown Records (red cover above) and later by Ember Records in the UK (blue version above) this is a great forgotten little gem, featuring swinging surf guitars and driving rhythms.......to the Batmobile!

AMPHONIC DETECTIVES

From the vaults of the super cool Amphonic Music Production Library comes this great collection on their "Sound Stage" series. As is usual with these library releases this includes standard length versions of the compositions, plus 60 and 30 second versions for use as stingers and such for commercial breaks and dramatic situations. Sit back and enjoy the Detectives!

COLUMBO : ORIGINAL TELEVISION SOUNDTRACK RECORDINGS

There are quite a few bootlegs of music from Columbo floating around on the web, here's another one for your collection. This is audio taken from the DVD's by our good friend Dimich. As you can see, this features the main themes from the season one episodes, plus a suite from "Prescription Murder". I must also thank Petite Madame (www.petite-madame.com) for permission to use her wonderful drawing of Columbo on my custom covers.
Just one more thing...

SOUNDTRACK '78

Here is a nice Japanese release featuring film themes from 1978. Although the cover would suggest a treasure trove of spy themes contained within, this is not the case. There are some great movie themes on this LP however and it includes a version of "Bond 77" that is a little different to the standard album version.

T.V. '67

From the Wyncote label we have this collection of themes that are not heard very often and are a very welcome addition to the archives. Even if you're not familiar with the shows, give it a try, you may like what you hear! Thanks once more to LoungeTracks for this rare little gem!

"T.V. 67 is here. The suspense and drama of these fantastic new shows are presented in this one explosive recording. The unrelenting force of the Dragnet, the heroism of I Spy, and the spine-tingling daring of T.H.E. Cat are captured under this cardboard cover. So stand back, and open with excessive care, because this album is untamed, uncontrollable and deathly potent."

THEME FROM THUNDERBALL

Like one or two other LP's featured on the site, here is a great crime inspired cover but what is contained is not exactly kosher spy jazz. Obviously designed to cash-in on the then current Bond mania, this album of music by The Mexicali Brass is a little mis-leading but never mind! we love our latin grooves here in the lounge.
