As a long time admirer of many other film composers, Roy Budd decided to embark on a huge project which would prove to be considerably difficult to accomplish; assembling and recording of original symphonic style film scores. This entailed a seemingly endless list of permissions that had to be granted, as well as the sheer amount of music to be waded through, sorted out and learnt. He aslo decided not only to make up certain suites which hitherto did not exist, but also to arrange and record certain scores which to date had never been recorded and therefore were unavailable to the public.
Using the London Symphony Orchestra comprising ninety musicians, plus a choir, Roy has produced what can probably only be described as a number of film score compilations to end all film score compilations recordings. And this is just one of them.
