While I was a teen I became interested in paperback books because of the fab artwork, most notibly artist Robert McGinnis.
Getting past the covers are some of the greatest story teller's works.
Ross McDonald penned Lew Archer. For the movie it became Harper.
Ross McDonalds storys hold up and any age group can enjoy his works.
Even prison libraries allowesd these mysteries.
Thank you for this historical album.
P.S. About the same time Bullit came out. Based on a Book , set in N.Y.C. by Robert Pike called Mute Witness. Another interesting Author.

If memory serves, and my memory is getting worse with each passing year; but one of the reasons the Lew Archer character was changed to Harper for the movie was Paul Newman only wanted to appear in movies with a one word title beginning with H, during this period, Hud and Hombre are two other movies of his which come to mind.

Thanks for the posting more music to hopefully bring my memory back.
Cheers

Thanks guys,

Sometimes I just can't think of anything to write in the description but the two of you have added some depth and background to the post :)

Cheers

For anyone interested in the book, it's called The Moving Target. Most mystery fans didn't think Paul Newman made a very credible Lew Archer but that's Hollywood. Thanks for the post.
